Coach Henry Oketcho's team batted first in the play-off game at the Royal Selangor Club to put on 130 (40.2 overs). But the USA team which also defeated Uganda in the round robin game made sure they picked 131/5 (47.2 overs) with 16 balls remaining.


Sagar Patel picked a game high 34 runs for the USA team, while Alex Shoff and Kushal Ganji had 28 and 23 runs respectively. Frank Akankwasa and Zephania Arinaitwe also picked 25 and 23 runs respectively for Uganda.


Nepal won the final game against Ireland to qualify for the 2016 U-19 World Cup that will take place in India.


The Nepal team that won all their games in the qualifiers beat Ireland by 3 wickets with 22 balls remaining. Ireland batted first to put on 184 (47-4) before Nepal chased to score 185/7 (46.2 overs).


Five nations Uganda, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, USA and Ireland will competed in the qualifiers after qualifying from their respective regions. The event was moved to Malaysia after earthquakes in Nepal in April.
