The Christians want Rt.Rev.George  Bagamuhunda,  the Bishop of Kigezi diocese to remove theArchdeacon or they kick him out. In their August 31st petition, the Christians claim that they have on several occasions blocked the Turyamureeba from selling off cows and trees belonging to the church without consulting the Archdeaconry council.

Saturday Nzabandora, a Christian in the area says the man of God uses abusive language, which can no longer be tolerated by Christians. He claims that Turyamureeba has been belittling Christians by saying that, they are ignorant and have nothing they can contribute towards making decisions in the Archdeaconry.

Nzabandoraalso claims that Turyamureeba is behind the deline of Nyaruhanga High school as he has been inciting parents and teachers to chase away head teachers. Nyaruhanga High school has had three head teachers with in one year.

Grace Tumusiime, a Christian at Mushanje Church of Uganda also accuses the Archdeacon of failing to account for the offertory paid by Christians yet he continues asking for more. But Rev. Stephen Turyamureeba, the embattled Archdeacon says the allegations are being peddled by Christians who want to frustrate him and the progress of the church.

Rev. Obed Turihohabwe, the Kigezi Diocesan secretary says they have received the Complaints from the Christians but dismisses the allegations as baseless. He says that they visited the Archdeaconry and established that those opposed to the priest are self seekers.

This is the fourth petition by the Christians in the archedeconry against Turyamureeba. Leadership wrangles are not new in Kabale diocese. Last year, unidentified people set the house of Rev. Joshua Owoyesiga, the embattled priest of All Saints church after they attempted to have him removed in vain.

The Christians accused Owoyesiga of misappropriating 20 million shilling, which was collected during the festive season for constructing their church.
