Victor Drile and Stephen Musisi improved their rankings in the on-going Tennis Ladder event after picking wins last weekend.

The Tennis Ladder event organized by Lugogo Tennis Club entered week 23 on Sunday with four matches on card around Kampala.

Victor Drile and Stephen Musisi won their matches to improve on their rankings in the event that has 39 players registered. Drile moved from sixth place to third after defeating Ivan Kyeirembo 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a game played at the Lugogo Tennis Club.

In the other game played that lasted over 2 hours, Stephen Musisi had to dig deep to beat new comer Andrew Jackson Oryada 6-2, 6-7, 7-6. The win moved Musisi from 11th place to 7th, while Oryada, a former national badminton champion slipped to 8th place.

Dutch lady journalist Marlies Pillon was also in winning form after a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Barry Souleymane in another game played at Lugogo. But Souleymane later got his act together to humble Joshua Burkart 6-4, 6-4.

James Kasumba, who has maintained the top position since the event started and has won all his seven games, warned that he will not be so easy to dethrone.
